Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) is also known as Lye, Caustic Soda. Our Sodium Hydroxide is a 99.9% high quality powder. It comes in a sealed tub(s) which keeps the powder protected from moisture. 

Common Uses:

Common uses of Sodium Hydroxide include being a pH-regulating agent. It is also a regenerating agent, a catalyst. It is also used as an etching agent, cleaning agent and chemical intermediate.

When dissolved in water this product generates a lot of heat. Use extreme caution when adding this product to water.

Always add product to water – never add water to product.

Always use cold water. Because adding product to hot water may cause it to boil and spatter. Keep product tightly sealed in its original container. This product is a strong desiccant and will absorb enough moisture from the air to dissolve itself and become liquid. It reacts strongly with metals containing Aluminium and produces Hydrogen gas.

CAUTION: Product reacts strongly with metals containing Aluminium and produces Hydrogen gas. CAUSES SEVERE BURNS. Avoid contact with skin, eyes, mucous membranes and clothing.

First Aid:

External: Wash off immediately if product may happen to come into contact with skin.

Internal: Drink Large quantities of water. do not induce vomiting. Go to hospital immediately.

Eyes: Flush with water for 15 minutes. Get immediate medical attention. Always keep out of reach of children.
